Recently I saw a video where a kid was praying to God to delete 2020 and re-install it as it had a bug or a virus.
Well, jokes apart, it is a fact that the World in 2020 has been struck by Covid -19, the Coronavirus. It is proving fatal for many and is a pandemic for sure.
While every sphere of human life has been affected by Corona, Education or Classes have had the worst effect. Schools across the Globe are now closed for over 40 days. The students of Preprimary and Primary School are worst affected due to lockdown. The students are losing precious learning time, and parents are losing patience.
Online Classes might have been an option earlier, but under the above circumstances of the Corona effect, Online Class is the only choice to ensure uninterrupted education for students.
It is rightly said necessity is the mother of all inventions, but under the present circumstances, innovation is the order of the day when conducting online classes for the students at home.
Suppose you are planning to conduct online classes. In that case, it is vital that, as a provider, you make sure, while your process is easy and adaptable, your content matches the syllabus of the particular class that you intend to teach.
The greatest challenge is when you decide to provide live online classes for Pre-primary or Nursery school students.
- The Session should be exciting so that you can keep the kids glued to the monitor.
- It should match the academic needs of that particular class, starting from Nursery, Kindergarten, Standard I to Std. II.
- It is not only about the students but also about satisfying their parents; they will judge you because they will surely attend your lectures.
So, how do you meet these challenges and emerge successfully? You will have to take care of the following points:
- It should be easy to download and access.
- Should be easy to operate/use.
- It should have different options for:
a. Delivering live lectures
b. Sharing pre-loaded videos
c. Sharing documents like PPT, Pictures, Tables, JPG, PDF, etc.
d. Assigning Homework
e. To ask selective questions from students
f. For students to raise their queries
g. To conduct tests
h. To maintain a record of marks obtained
i. To record the Session for repeat viewing
j. For sending messages and notifications to students
a. Teacher must be prepared to deliver the lectures with the least fumbles.
b. Session should be interactive and participative for the students at regular intervals.
c. Lectures should not have too many long pauses or blank moments.
a. Content should be according to the syllabus of the particular class, nothing less, nothing more.
b. A lecture of 40 minutes should not have more than 10 minutes of monologues.
c. Videos should be the significant portion of the 40 minutes session, say at least 20 minutes.
d. Practical activities to be performed on the day and also as assignments must involve at least 10 minutes of the Session.
a. It is a virtual class where you are not present in front of the students.
b. You are unaware of how many students understand every bit of your session
c. Kids have a brief attention span; hence all segments, lectures, videos, and activities must be short sessions of 2 minutes to 3 minutes each.
Especially in these difficult times of the Corona Pandemic, you must be prepared to address the challenges discussed above. Your online class should be adequate, fruitful for the students, and satisfies the Parents. The content should match the & Primary & Pre-Primary school students' syllabus and ensure that they remain glued to their screens.

How to take effective virtual classes without books
Taking online classes, without books is certainly possible. It will require some preparations from the teachers point of view.
- Decide a topic.
- Decide the concept to be discussed.
- Prepare to make presentations through - Flash cards, Posts, videos
Infact online classes with books tend to become boring, but if you use other resources you are most likely to keep the interest of the student high. They would remain glued to the screen if the resources are used with proper and engaging explanations.
The success will all depend on how interactive the teacher is able to make the session.
Very apt topic in the era of Covid-19
Easy to say than done..
This is from teachers as well as parents perspective. The important thing lacking in the online class is the cordial environment,
Not only teachers, parents are equally putting efforts to keep the kid surrounded, and occupied with captive learning, but failing miserably when kid is unable to pay attention to a mobile screen ro learn such intense topics.
Breath easy, give some space to kids and teachers, everything shall fall in place sooner or later.
It's really amazing and praiseworthy as Mastermind team is really putting efforts for the kids.
So that they should be engaged and have some interactive and interesting time with their mentors.
This is very good step during this lockdown , but some problems are there like , your application not working properly and not understanding kids properly.
Is it possible to change the time of session because in afternoon energy level of children is not so good so it's request you to please schedule the session in the morning
